Natnari: I think I am fall in love with Park Chung hee
Me: who is that
Natnari: the Korean Dictator during 1970 80

Not gonna lie, my first thought was he was a Korean pop idol.  My second thought was, oh shit I didn't know that and I just did my readings on Korean industrialization!  My third thought was, yeah.  He was a pretty smart dude.

There's something very time-travel-esque about falling for a dictator of the near past.

Sounds like the beginning of a story!

Please write it! You know it's just the break you need from grad school stuff. And you could do it justice. It would turn to vacuous mush in my hands.

But time-travel is so hard to write! I always get confused by it lol

We can blame it on the late hour, but somehow the thought of you confused over time travel reminded me of Strongbad realizing he couldn't both be enjoying dinner and dancing while at the same time being the fangly fish in this episode of Strongbad email.

I just watched this movie. I was so confused I didn't even know what I was confused about.

Do you like how ONLY THE YELLOW PARTS are even in the movie? The movie itself was kinda cool, if you like mathy, techno-accurate things. Decent cinematography too. Not so much on the action/drama, though.

"Carruth [guy who made the movie] graduated from college with a degree in mathematics and is a former engineer. Primer is of note for its extremely low budget, experimental plot structure, philosophical implications, and complex technical dialogue, which Carruth chose not to simplify for the sake of his audience. One reviewer said that 'anybody who claims he fully understands what's going on in Primer after seeing it just once is either a savant or a liar.'"

Still not sure whether or not I liked it.
