The picture is from a photo shoot by Txema Yeste in Citizen K (Winter 2007) called "Al Son De Los Tambores" (To the Sound of the Drums, I believe).  The model's name is Claudia Merikula.  I wanted something pretty because my relatives are coming over and they might want to use my computadora.  I saved the photo shoot because I'm all about the melancholy tribal look (in case my username did not make that clear).  Plus there's a lot of textiles in my genes (my father's family made/sold them, my mother was an anthropologist... my uncle was married to a quilter, and my cousin's wife knits like mad to break her smoking habit). 

Things on desktop:
- Nadia: my documents, pictures, music, etc.
- iTunes
- Computer: the management department
- Network: no idea what this icon does
- Mozilla Firefox: Firefox is God.  Down with IE.
- Recycle Bin: need to clean that shit out.
- AVG Free 8.5: my anti-virus and anti-spyware.  also God; undemanding on the processor, effective, free.
- Flash Disinfector: in case my USB drive ever gets ill.
- weather: so I can be well-informed.
- clock: much easier to decipher than digital time.
- post-it notes: "We have been the ghosts we called" actually follows the first note, "We adjoin at the end of the night," English translations of the fantastic song, "2 Falken," by the German neopagan band Faun.
- picture slideshow: not sure what that is.  A stone wolf eating something?
- news updates
- along the bottom: iTunes, how to do a screenshot in Windows, courtesy of Wikipedia, a story I'm working on, and the screenshot's untitled destination in Paint.

eh, i'm not gonna do this one, 'cause i already posted my wallpaper picture (it's rice fields...i'm kinda tired of it, though. i hate finding pictures...). But nice pic!

psh, I'm sure that's not true.

I actually am neurotic about my desktop. My mother's work desktop has a million icons on it and my urge is just to clean it... I'm like an electronic housewife or something.

I guess I have fleeting moments of pride. They've been pretty rare for the past few years, though. Better than sophomore year, I s'pose.

just as long as you don't become a non-electronic cleaning-obsessed housewife.

I doubt it. My neurosis is limited to my electronics. I've gotten over my hypochondria at least.
