We shall know the... truth?
1. Baltar's father! The cantankerous old working class farmer! "The idiot even changed his accent!" Oh, man. That was beautiful.
2. I really liked the scene where everybody decides whether or not to go on the rescue mission. The choreography of people moving across the red tape was just real nice - although obviously we all knew that the main characters would be going on the rescue mission. Is Athena going? She is, right? She's just really depressed?
3. A lot of those Caprica scenes were so slow. And there was somehow a diminished effectiveness to the symbols of life amid death and dismay. I did like the lighting in the flashback of Lee drunkenly chasing the pigeon, though. Why he was drunkenly chasing the pigeon, who knows. I guess because he's Lee.
4. Sam's flashback = if an athlete actually talked like that to reporters, I think we would all assume he wasn't human. Please.
5. Tyrol: "She's a blow-up doll. They all are." Jeez, man. And why was he in the brig, randomly? And then out of the brig?
6. Bad-ass awards of the week go to Adama, for that little "motivational" speech: "This will likely be a one-way trip!" and then after they find out they have to jump the ship on top of a black hole, "Let's get to work." Now there's the Adama I know and love. As Gimli says, "certainty of death? small chance of success? what are we waiting for?"
7. I learned that "singularity" can mean "black hole" today.
Next week is the 2 hour finale. I think plotting it around rescuing Hera and finally confronting Cavill - the last one outside this "total alliance" / "no alliance" - is very smart. But I remain skeptical about the writers' ability to cram the truth into the last two hours.
Oh my God, the last two hours. What the frak am I going to watch after this is over?
