I can't leave things unfinished.
Just for the hell of it, since I "reviewed" and rated Tree of Might, I have to do the others too - the ones that I've seen that is. I'm not going to actually do a full-on play-by-play analysis, but I'll give my ratings.
1. The Dead Zone
Combat: 8 out of 10
Dialogue: 7 out of 10
Originality: 4 out of 10
Overall: 6.3 out of 10
2. The World's Strongest
Combat: 6 out of 10
Dialogue: 8 out of 10
Originality: 7 out of 10
Overall: 7 out of 10
4. Lord Slug
Combat: 8 out of 10
Dialogue: 8 out of 10
Originality: 3 out of 10
Overall: 6.3 out of 10
5. Cooler's Revenge
Combat: 5 out of 10
Dialogue: 3 out of 10
Originality: 1 out of 10
Overall: 3 out of 10 (yikes)
6. The Return of Cooler
Combat: 9 out of 10
Dialogue: 8 out of 10
Originality: 8 out of 10 (for sheer weirdness)
Overall: 8.3 out of 10
The winner is, thus far, The Return of Cooler. Maybe I'll review that one play-by-play... because I do love that movie. The premise is really retarded and unoriginal, but it's like the creators just decided to smoke pot as they developed the plot line. Kim calls this movie the "one where nobody does anything", and it truly wins for WTF-ness, which is why I gave it a high score with originality. It reminds me of this one Sailor Moon comic that I read once that did not fit at all with the canon and featured giant spider-robots and some guy who kidnapped Sailor Moon and the other scouts had to prove that she meant something to them... I don't know, it was very bizarre, though not nearly as bizarre as the end of this one. It's like it doesn't even try to make sense. Yet strangely enough it's the one with the least inconsistencies with the canon. I mean, it's possible that they go to New Namek at some point during the 3-years prior to the Androids and Cell, right? Not exactly likely, but possible.
