i wasn't feeling sappy until I listened to this song: "Love Song" by 311.  Somebody needs to make a G/CC amv to this.  Or we can just wait until Ilium becomes a big franchise, and then crazy fans will be able to dedicate it to Acmon and Andromache.  Ha ha.  I hope everyone knows I'm being sarcastic and not egotistical.

so I woke up at 5 p.m. today.  My head feels like a swollen balloon.  I'm eating Ramen noodles.  I just sneezed all over my laptop monitor.  Last night I tossed and turned, coughing and hacking and unable to sleep, and then I finally went to sleep under the pretense that all I had to do was "answer" the "questions" that my "head" would "ask" me.  In other words, I was fucking delirious.  I am still pretty delirious, but all my suitemates except for the One who is Silent are out to dinner.  Early Bird actually showed compassion for me today - perhaps because she saw that I was putting dishes away - and invited me to go.  No such luck with Grendel's Mother, of course. 

So the plan for the rest of the night is to write Ilium.  I'd like to at least get to the part where Acmon is sent off to find Andromache.  I can't believe how good I am at drawing things out.

Whoa, that's by The Cure originally? I knew it was a cover, because I used to hear what I thought was the original on the radio, which was most definitely not 311...guess it was The Cure. Hunh.

Christ, there are a lot of covers of it, "It has also been covered by the bands Anberlin, A Perfect Circle, Tool, Angry Johnny And The Killbillies, The Deluxtone Rockets, Jack Off Jill, Snake River Conspiracy, Ira Losco, Death Cab for Cutie and Voltaire as well as by singer-songwriter Tori Amos." I have the Jack Off Jill one. I like it...might even send it to you.
