never thought I'd say this, but I miss my independence from my mother.

there's this really disturbing sound that comes out of the wall I sit beside at work: like someone with an alto voice screaming/singing in monotone.  it starts suddenly, lasts for three seconds then cuts off as if by doppler effect. 

buildings scare me.

Yeah, it's always weird going back home and having parents want to be, well, parental again. I'm sure it's a bit different for you since you get along w/ your mom better, but same general concept...

no, it's just like... odd. I don't like it if she tells me what to do (she's not my supervisor though, so she doesn't do this regularly). it exacerbates that I felt like I had much more power in our mother-daughter dyad when I'm not home, because I can threaten to run away and never come back, I think.
