Well, apparently they were born to an economist and an art historian. Joel studied film at NYU and Ethan studied philosophy at Princeton. That gives them the right background for hipsterdom! :P

Although, to be fair, I guess, the worst (both in terms of annoyance and in degree of hipsterness) hipsters are the ones who cannot create anything themselves.

So maybe I just hate postmodernism. And post-industrial culture. And life. And people.
