You've really got to take things in context. It's pretty clear when Alex is talking that he doesn't mean that women suck or that you suck because you're a woman.

Also, I don't think he expects to get a positive response. And I think he judges people by how they react. And I think he likes me because I share his disregard for social norms and really don't give a shit when he talks 3 inches from my face or calls me a cunt or whatever, because he's Alex, and Alex is a nerdy gay computer guy with strong opinions who likes to flout social norms with no other meaning by it than that he doesn't like social norms. I get that (and I don't like social norms either, though I think there are more productive ways to go about attacking them, even if i don't actually use said ways), and he likes that I get that, and so.
