Jun. 13th, 2007 11:13 amDan Rather says that by replacing him with Katie Couric, CBS was "tarting up" the Evening News. CBS' exec, Leslie Moonves, says he's being sexist. I would agree - such a remark is inherently debasing to women.
But I don't agree.
Because she is a tart. She's not an influential person, she plagiarizes, and all she has by way of assets is nice legs, apparently. I know it's all about catering to the audience and drawing people in, but if she really objected to her way of drawing people in, she could probably refuse. Instead, she flourishes on it. Eventually they'll be having her sitting on the desk and doing the Basic Instinct leg cross. She is at third place, after all, something's gotta get her up to first.
