Well, maybe you see political causes as more like religions (disliking blind faith and flock-mentality and all that?)? Maybe you don't like the finality of it.

Good news about the internship, not good news about my on-campus job this semester. That's what I'm currently worried about.

I think I'm having reverse culture shock right now.
